This free sensory room budget planner helps you build a calm corner in layers, so you spend on what your child actually uses before you spend on the showpieces.
Pick the pieces you want, add the prices you find (or ours, where we sell the item), and sort everything into Now, Next, and Later. The planner adds it up, shows what is left of your budget, and checks that you have covered every sense. It works for a bedroom corner, a classroom, or a therapy room, and nothing you type leaves your device.
1. Set your budget
Enter a budget to see how far your plan goes.
2. Choose your pieces
Set Qty to 1 or more to include an item and 0 to leave it out. Type the real price you find in “Your price”. MoniBabu items are filled in with our current price, which you can change. Anything chosen without a price is flagged and not counted.
| Qty | Item | Phase | Your price | Line total |

3. Check your plan
Sense coverage. A calm corner works best when it reaches every sense at least once.
How to use the sensory room budget planner
- Set your budget. Use the number you can actually spend this season, not the dream number. You can change it at any time.
- Choose your pieces. The first three layers (light, a soft place to land, and headphones) are already selected as a starting point. Add the price you find for each.
- Sort into Now, Next, and Later. Fund Now first. Watch what your child reaches for over a few weeks. Then decide whether Next should be pressure, movement, or light.
- Print it. Use Print or save as PDF to share the plan with an OT, a teacher, a partner, or a school business office.
Why we plan in layers instead of by price
Most sensory room guides start with the big pieces: a bubble tube, a swing frame, a wall system. We think that is backwards. A child who is overwhelmed rarely needs more stimulation. They need softer light, a place to retreat, and less noise. Those three cost the least and apply to nearly every child, so they come first.
Layering also protects your budget. Each phase gives you a reason to stop and watch before you spend again. If your child ignores the swing and lives on the light board, you will see it before the swing frame is on the credit card. Our guide to sensory room equipment walks through all nine layers in order, and our calm corner checklist shows what to put in a first corner.
The planner prices only what you tell it. We include our own prices for the MoniBabu pieces (the water coloring set, the color sorting toy, the 70-peg light up peg board, and the 175-peg wall panel). Everything else is blank on purpose, because prices for items we do not sell change too fast to print here. Type in what you actually find.
Sensory room budget planner FAQ
Is the planner really free?
Yes. There is nothing to sign up for and no email required. Use it as often as you like and share the link.
Does the planner save or send my information?
It keeps your plan in your own browser so it is still there when you return on the same device. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else. Clear your browser data, or press Start over, to erase it.
Why are most of the prices blank?
We only print prices for items we sell, because those are the only ones we can stand behind. For everything else, add the price from the store you plan to use. Items you choose without a price are flagged so you do not forget them.
Can a school or therapy clinic use it?
Yes. Add rows for shared-use items, put the most-used pieces in Now, and use Print or save as PDF to send the plan to a budget holder. Shared rooms also need durable equipment and clear rules, which our equipment guide covers.
Is this medical or safety advice?
No. It is a planning tool. A qualified occupational therapist should guide what suits your child, especially for weighted, swinging, or pressure items. Always follow anchoring, weight, and supervision instructions from the maker.
